Kickstarter: Armikrog

What if I told you that the day has finally arrived?

The day that a new game that combines clay and non-stop animation – all culminating in an adventure game will be made available once again?

The Armikrog project was started by the folks of Pencil Test Studios who’s core team includes the producers of the Neverhood – a stop-motion animation adventure game made entirely out of clay (which at one point became a very expensive collector’s item back in the late 90s!) so I’m so thrilled that they’re going to recreate the amazing textures of The Neverhood in a new game!

About the game:
Armikrog follows the adventures of a space explorer named Tommynaut and his blind alien, talking dog named Beak-Beak. They crash land on a weird planet and end up locked in a mysterious fortress called Armikrog. Then…the adventure begins!
They’re asking for USD$900,000 and they’ve already reached half their goal! There’s still 17 days to go and I for one would love to see this game come to life (in case you haven’t heard, I’m an adventure gamer geek, and the combination of clay, stop-motion animation and Beak-Beak (the blind dog is just too much to resist!)

So if you’re like me who can’t wait for this to come out, head over to Kickstarter and help these guys out!

Tokyo-based graphic designer Yoriko Youda has been uploading her work every single day to her website since 2007.

So now there’s a total of 1800+ pieces where she explores topics such as colors, shoes, everyday objects, buildings – the list goes on and on. She can expand on one topic across several different pieces, and this is the part where I find truly interesting. She pushes her limits to create something new within each category, which in turn allows her to create extraordinary images. She’s stretching and the results are smart, witty and amazing.

Persistence is key when it comes to creating great stories through art. [Like this? Tweet it out and share it!

Happy Monday folks!

Hi folks!

Posting will be light for this week as I’m currently away for the Asian Festival of Children’s Content that’s happening in Singapore – but I managed to squeeze in time last week to talk to Lindsay of Light Grey Art Lab over Skype about the recent SMART show that I curated for their gallery! In this half-hour long podcast, you can listen to me talk about geeky stuff and what my thoughts are for artists who are looking to expand their creative vision, and how to find more work. We had lots of fun and I hope you enjoy listening (and I’m sorry for how my voice sounds – I wasn’t feeling well at the time!)

It’s my first podcast ever (as well as my first curated show!) so I really am so grateful for the opportunity given to me by the team at LGA! It’s going to be up from now till 7th June, so check out the online gallery or online store!

For the podcast, you can hop over to the the Light Grey Art Lab to download the mp3 or listen to it on iTunes – just click here!

I’ll catch up with you all soon!
