US-based artist Mark Warren Jacques’ work drew me in in an instant. There’s something in his paintings (done mostly in acrylics and ink) that speaks to me. Whether it’s the geometric forms, or near perfect proportions – each one seems to send a message; a recorded teleportation and communication in progress from one plane to another. Some of the titles of his pieces are interesting as well – for example, the last image is entitled “The sun feels great on my naked parts” – you can’t get any more communicative than that.

Here’s his shop – but unfortunately his prints are all sold out.

Do not be NERVOUS

Jungle Fever

Nolan Pelletier is a Connecticut born illustrator who is currently based in Toronto. He just graduated a month ago and already he’s working with the New York Times and Fantasy Camp Press on various commissions. His illustrations combine interesting details (especially for character’s faces, where they almost seem puppet-like), as well as working with limited blocks of color.

Lucy Eldridge

I discovered the work of London-based Lucy Eldridge via my Tumblr page, and I’m smitten ever since. Her watercolor work is beautifully imperfect (in a sort-of perfect way) while detailed touches to various elements adds flair and texture to an already understated portfolio. I’d love to see her illustrate some children’s books!
