Tara Fortin’s Etsy store features a lot of cats. And I mean A LOT. And she does vampires too, and other funky goth illustrations. I bet it’s because her partner in crime, Rocko the Cat puts her up to it. (Did anyone ever watch Rocko’s Modern Life, a cartoon on Cartoon Network where there’s this Aussie bunny who has a cow for a friend? I’m digressing, but I love the name Rocko.)

Mati Rose is a fantastic artist – one who tells you that it took her 32 years, 2 schools and 486 paintings to get to where she is right now. I take this especially to heart, so I’m trying to slow things down in my life and to experiment a little more, and to take myself out of a box that I’ve done a fair job sticking myself into for the past few years! I’m always telling myself that it always takes practice, patience and a healthy dose of faith.

Her style is quirky and eclectic, and features quite a bit of animals in there – the ones I spot the most are tigers, kitties (or both!), birds and elephants. Her imagination must be a fantastic place to be!
