Be joyful

And of course, while we’re on the topic of food — here’s some good advice to toast to.

The image was part of a kitchen remodelling and you can read about the kitchen makeover here, done by Urban Grace Interiors.

Anek

I have to warn you about Anek’s shop.

If you haven’t had your meal for the day, you’d better come back later because a look at her work might just send you over the edge and reach for that bag of cookies or any sinful snack lying around just so you can sink your teeth into something. Her work revolves around a theme of food + kitchen, and to me, she has mastered the skill of painting an idea of what makes a perfect kitchen. It made me hungry for good food, fun conversations and friends to enjoy my meal with.

And I just had my dinner.

Shop owner Ana is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Zagreb, Croatia, and she documents some lovely finds on her blog too (most of them mixing her love of food and art, which is a fantastic combo).

Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Justin Degarmo’s rotund characters remind me of Doughnut Boy — a character on the Simpsons TV show, but of course, Justin’s characters are way edgier and life-like (albeit some in a greasy sort of way).

His range of style is amazing — from pencil to acrylics (most of his paintings are done in the medium), he amazes me with his skill, and more importantly, his imagination.

You can purchase prints of his work over at his Etsy shop or over at the Bear and Bird gallery.
