I am a big fan of infographics (in a nutshell, infographics are images that illustrate a set of data). There’s something to be said about dissecting data down to something so pretty to illustrate a point – it’s far sexier than having rows and columns of spreadsheets staring back at you, that’s for sure.

One such artist is Jude Buffum who is currently teaching and freelancing in Philadelphia. He’s a pixel pusher who is doing great stuff that reminds me of VGA games back in 1980 (Steve Kraan’s work have the same effect on me). Other than unsmoothened pixels, his other forte is infographics, and it’s what attracts me most.

He has some prints for sale that are full of pixellated goodness, and if you’re a nerd like me, you’ll want to check it out over here.

Ack! I HEART the work of Kate Kosek, a recent painting grad from SUNY New Paltz (State University of New York). Now, I know she’s a painter, but I really hope this girl goes into textile design. I want to wear her artwork right now. Like right now. I’m selfish. I want to snuggle under it. I want to put things in it and carry it around. I want to wash my face with it. I want to wrap it around my neck. Well, you get the idea.

So, does anyone know someone who knows somebody in the field that would forward her site for me?

Ok, thanks.

These papercuts by Julene Harrison would make such a lovely gift to commemorate a special occasion! She’s an illustrator based in the UK who is a whiz when it comes to paper cutting, and she’s currently accepting commissions. See more of her works on her blog and she also has an Etsy shop where you can buy some of her lasercut runs of popular editions as well!
