I’m a fan of Buy Some Damn Art (previously) – and this week’s reveal was Tuesday Bassen, an illustrator based in NYC who does fun illustrations (you know, the kind that I obsess over!) It’s one of my favorite collection to date too – her work on ceramics makes it all the more unique. There’s a few pieces left which you can snap up right here – but I’d be quick about it if I were you!
You may remember that I posted about Maurice Sendak on Colbert Report about two weeks ago where he showed his grumpy side.
I still can’t believe he’s gone.
Elijah Wood said it best: “Maurice Sendak has left us for the land of the wild things. May he carry on adventuring.”
Loving the textures and organic forms of Edward McGowan’s illustrations, especially work done by his alter ego Parko Polo who only surfaces by night after Edward’s done working!
In his after-work project, it’s clear that Edward’s style veers towards the playful; the geometrical and organic that can be seen subtly in his primary portfolio.
