Desktop wallpaper series: Heather Diane

Heather Diane wallpaper 2012

This month’s desktop wallpaper comes from Heather Diane of Illustrated Bites (we featured her not too long ago!) who is a whiz at hand-lettering, illustrations and of course, someone who loves her food! You can follow her on Twitter as well. This month, she’s sharing an illustration of edible mushrooms for you to put up – you know, just in case you’re off in the woods and need to verify if that ‘shroom that you’ve picked up will kill ya. Compare carefully, friends!

I know that we’ve sort of skipped July for the desktop wallpaper project (ooops!) but I’d like to think that it’s summer and all can be forgiven (even though it’s sunny all year round for me and it was a particularly challenging month… I’m digressing!)

I thought these inflatable dolls by Applebee’s are rather hilarious – they act as a stand-in version of you that you place on your chair when you go off for lunch.

Best line ever? “Utilizing state of the art balloon-based technology, Lunch Decoy replicates your every move in the office.” Watch for the deliberate pause!

Seoul-born Yeji Yun’s work may look a little rough around the edges – but don’t let that fool you. While her sketchbook cum diary is filled with what may seem like rough pencil drawings, filled with Korean words (which I can’t decipher); I find them to be playful and emotional – a little more so than her commercial works that can feel more polished and grown up (but still retaining that sense of delight that shines through in her sketches.)

Happy Monday folks!
