PikaPackage: Iris Schwarz

Sense and Sensibility, an original work, where it’s done with pencil and acrylic paint on fabric (cotton) with elements of vintage paper (book pages)

Iris Schwarz is no stranger at Pikaland. She was also one of the first participants on the first PikaPackage Project! I love her beautiful prints and cards, which are also now available at Little Paper Planes and if you haven’t already read her interview where she talks about her art, you can see it here.

PikaPackage: Melanie Wickham

Melanie Wickham was exposed to nature at a very young age, which had a profound effect on her subject matter — her prints are mainly based on the natural elements, with a humorous twist. Her work are limited edition black and white lino prints, all hand printed using a boxwood burnishing tool on Somerset Satin paper.

For July’s PikaPackage Project, she sent in some of her lovely hand printed, limited edition lino prints featuring her amusing animals!

That Yarn Cat — original drawing

There’s a lot of artists that I want to write about, but unfortunately because I was away last month, my list has been growing longer and longer. And one of the artists on that list is Denise Ann Simon, a freelance illlustrator and artist based in Chicago, IL.

From her portfolio

Denise studied photography while in school, and after being in a cubicle for four years, she returned to her true passion of composing illustrations, letterpress, writing zines, and other forays into the creative process.

Denise Ann Simon's reading set!

She just recently opened up her Etsy shop where you can original drawing and gocco goodies, such as her specially made contribution for the PikaPackage Project — The Little Red Riding Hood Reading Set!
