Clock out with Blik and Doodlers Anonymous

Doodlers Anonymous is organising a challenge (together with Blik) for artists, illustrators and doodlers of all ages: to design a backdrop for a wall clock. And the best part? There’s absolutely no restriction on style, colours, or theme.

Six winning submissions will have their art transformed into 10” wall clocks to be sold through Blik and Doodlers Anonymous; with a portion of the royalties going to the lucky artists.

You might be thinking – oh sure, I can do that on Society6 and all that, but if you’re one of the chosen artists who makes it on Blik’s website, it might just be like hitting the proverbial jackpot when it comes to showcasing your work. You’ll be sitting alongside fantastic artists who has done work for Blik, like Rex Ray, Amy Ruppel and Charles and Ray Eames – which is why I think this competition is a fantastic opportunity to show what you are made of!

Deadline for the contest is 21st August so there’s no time like now to get your drawing on.

Work/Art/Play 2015 is now open for enrolment!

I’ve gotten emails throughout the year asking when Work/Art/Play – an online class I’ve designed for artists and illustrators – will be opened again. Well the wait is over – because enrollment officially begins right now.

If you’ve ever wondered if there’s a better way to navigate your journey as an artist or illustrator, I’m here to tell you that there is. I’ve designed an online course that will not only help focus your strengths into creating works that you will love, but others as well. I’ll show you how self-promotion can be a lot less scary (because it really isn’t!) and by the end of it, you’ll see how the whole process allows you to stay true to yourself. You’ll also learn what works and how to find (and create) new opportunities you’ve never thought of before.

If you’ve ever met me in real life (or online), you’ll know that I love working with people. I’m a life-long student myself, and above all, I love teaching. I didn’t just come up with the materials for the class – I’ve also designed the online classroom myself – to ensure a great learning environment that’s conducive for students: one that’s beautiful and easy to navigate. It’s truly a full-on learning experience that you can carry with you wherever you go!

So without further ado, I’d like to invite you to join the Work/Art/Play experience. We’ve gotten lots of amazing feedback after two years of running the program, and we’d like to invite you to be a part of our smart and generous community.

Enrollment ends on 7th August 2015 – and there’s a limit on the number of students I’m taking in for the Personalized Program, so if you’re looking for targeted feedback + extra help one-on-one, I’d suggest you hop on over right now.

Registration is now closed! Click here to sign up to be notified when the next session begins!

Work/Art/Play 2015: Registration opens next week!

You know how I’ve been teaching this one workshop every year? It’s called Work/Art/Play, and it opens up next week for registration. Mark your calendars – it’s going to happen on 20th July, and classes will begin on 10th August 2015.

If you’re working full time in a different field but want to explore how to make your mark in the world through art and illustration, this is the class for you. Or perhaps you’re a recent graduate or someone already knee-deep in the industry – you’ll benefit too. We’re going to go through 6 weeks of life and perspective-changing lessons that’s going to give you a solid blueprint on how to take your work above and beyond. It’s all happening online (students all over the world are welcome), and I’m going to personally take you through the paces to uncover your strength; and show you how marketing isn’t scary at all. Not one bit.
