We had a great Chinese New Year celebration over here last night. It’s one the most important day in the 15-day long celebration as we pay homage to the Jade Emperor (hence the lack of posts!). Offerings were made, joss-sticks were lit and firecrackers were popping all over the streets! It was the first time I’ve celebrated the occasion, I have to admit. Our reasons for celebrating has more to do with a cultural tribute, which works just fine for me — especially since I was raised in a household that doesn’t practice these interesting rituals!
