Penelope Dullaghan is an illustrator and co-founder of Illustration Friday and I just let myself spend an hour (plus some) looking at her artwork and reading her blog because her artwork made me feel incredibly relaxed, which would make sense because aside from illustrator, she is also a yoga instructor!
Looking at art and reading is never a waste of time…it’s how I meditate.
Check out the sexy line work from ZSO (aka Sara Blake), an NYU graduate and freelance illustrator from New York. At first glance, I though most of her pieces were drawings or watercolor paintings but some of them are also digital pieces. Her site has a few videos showing the evolution.
I also love her blog in which she showcases her work from various angles. I like when artists try to give the full effect of their artwork because things can seem intangible and a little flat on the Internet.
Oh Nicoletta Ceccoli! My friends know me too well. For my birthday last year, my BFF gave me Kate Bernheimer’s book The Girl Inside the Castle Inside the Museum which Nicoletta illustrated. Ceccoli has illustrated many books in her home country of Italy, but also the US and the UK but The Girl Inside the Castle Inside the Museum is my favorite by far.
