Kim’s Little Monsters

I absolutely adore these wooden brooches from Kim’s Little Monster shop that I saw this morning over on the Etsy front page. Kim Welling is an artist and illustrator based in Netherlands and I am totally crushing on these portrait pins! I can totally imagine owning 7 of these (all with different portraits, of course!) each one for a different day of the week. Or maybe just 6, and then pin all 6 of them altogether for Sunday.

Oh yes.

Happy weekend everyone! I hope you had a lovely week and that your weekend is off to a wonderful start! 🙂

p/s—My Etsy article 9 tips to be more creative was featured in an Etsy newsletter today, thanks Danielle! 🙂

A Dental Appointment

We all have days like these don’t we?

You would think that after 3 years of having braces, 6 tooth extractions to fit the braces in, and monthly tightenings would toughen me up a little bit.

Heck no. Which is why I think this painting by Christian Northeast sums up my feelings exactly.

Project: Presenting

For our new project, we’re casting an open call to artists (illustrators, artists, crafters, and designers, we’re looking at you!) we’d like to see your promo materials.

Namecards, postcards, posters, badges, mini-zines/books, stickers, button badges, you name it — if the reason it exists is to spread your name and/or to make your customers/clients happy, we’d like to see it!

Project Presenting will be an ongoing one throughout the year, and we’ll pick out some of the finest out there to be featured in a series of zines.

To enter, we’ll need you to send us a small snail mail packet containing 5 sets of your promo materials! Email Amy at amy@pikaland.com for the address to send in your promos!
