Pikaland x Society6

Society6 x pikaland

Print by Lee May of Bonbiforest

I love the idea of Society6. I’ve been collaborating with Justin Wills, one of the founders on and off since they first kicked off in May 2009, and it’s wonderful to see how they have grown! I’ve offered mini grants for artists to be featured here on the blog, as well as advertisement space for the winners — it was a great experience all round.

And now, artists on Society6 can have their artwork immediately available for sale right on the site! Society6 takes care of everything: the selling, producing, packaging and shipping too, while you work on what you do best. And not only that, I was invited to be a curator, with a shopfront to boot that has a running selection of works from artists that Pikaland fans would love! You can shop my personal picks (I’m continuously adding to the list!) over here: showcase.pikaland.com!

Mia Christopher giveaway!

You know the week is off to a great start when there’s going to be more than one winner for a giveaway! 😉

This week’s fantastic giveaway comes from Mia Christopher, a multi-disciplinary artist based in San Francisco and is currently studying drawing and painting at California College of the Arts.

I’m a big fan of hers personally, so I’m really thrilled that she’s offering one original work titled Birthday Present, a 6.5“x8” original gouache on paper work that’s mounted to wood and coated in a clear resin to ONE lucky winner, and also a House print to another, which is a total of TWO happy people, yay!

Just leave your comment below (remember to hit “Submit” after you preview your comments!) and I’ll draw the name of the two lucky winners by 28th July!

See more of her work over at her website and also drop by her Etsy shop for prints and more!

UPDATE: Commenting has now closed, thanks so much for participating. The winner of this giveaway is Camila F & Dawn, as generated by random.org.

gabriella barouch

Whoa Dude! Loving the work of Isreali illustrator Gabriella Barouch. She has many different styles in her portfolio which is keeping me super interested. I think it’s the quality of line work she uses and the layers of medium (such as pen work on top of paint) which I enjoy too.

I just find comfort in knowing that a piece of artwork is secretly covered in fingerprints.
