Our expertise and knowledge of what makes a great online presence will be supplemented with examples from our favorite blogs, shops, and websites from across the web! We’ll break it down for you: how to brand yourself and how you can bring out your persona, with weekly one-on-one critiques and exercises aimed specifically at bringing out the best in you and your art online! From introductions, marketing, and self-promotion to how to sustain yourself, each week we’ll discuss a different topic providing essential tips and information and how to make your mark matter! Peculiar Bliss is a website dedicated to a continuous “stream of doodles and images, featuring creative, original works from sketchbooks and other mediums into one location, with the hope to inspire continued creative thinking.” I LIKE!

They have a new FREE magazine available for download. It was designed by Vaughn Fender and has a great interview (really enjoyable for those design nerds like me) with Chris Piascik. My fav (among the talent of artwork) is Seen and Heard; a section of creative goods from indie artists, and a mixtape of known and unknown musicians.

Have you ever wanted to create a story using your own images or ideas but were too afraid to begin or didn’t know where to start?? Visual journaling is a fantastic way to dive in and break down the fears and imaginary barriers that may exist in creating your own unique story!

In this five week course we’ll use a moleskine as a medium and place to gather images and ideas. Incorporating collage, drawn imagery, words, and photos to create your own narrative we’ll explore different ways of self-expression. With emphasis on specific character development and examples from across the web of exciting, inventive visual journaling to inspire and learn from!
