i don’t quite understand this ‘project’. illustrators/artists ‘donate’ their pieces then you sell them and make profit out of their work? it really doesn’t make sense to me. unless i misunderstood totally what’s really about…

Simon, the project essentially showcases the illustrators/artists work, and unlike traditional advertising, the project is more interactive, and their work is in the spotlight for a month and a half. It is more of an exchange — their works are submitted for marketing and promotion, which is essential for businesses. They each get a package themselves after participating and the leftovers are then sold. So no, I don’t profit directly from their work, rather I make a small profit (that’s only enough to keep me afloat) by providing a service — and there’s a huge, huge amount of work involved. Most of the participants are aware of how much time and care is taken to put this together, and my biggest joy is hearing that their shop is doing better because of the publicity, and even if they don’t pick up immediately, many others read the blog, which in turn turns it into a chain reaction, which is the whole reason behind this project.

Hope that sheds some light into your query. You can always email me at amy [@] pikaland.com if want more information as I can’t email you about this directly — your email address apparently does not exist. But thank you for letting me know your concern! 🙂
