Sponsor giveaway: Thumbtack Press

Thumbtack press giveaway

Thumbtack Press is an online art community that exposes art enthusiasts to unique, affordable art โ€“ in all a total of 100 or so of the world’s edgiest illustrators and fine artists from around the world.

Soon though, Thumbtack Press will be given a new lease on life by its new owner, Barry Friedland, with new artists and a new website to boot; set to launch in June. Many of the original Thumbtack Press artists are continuing their journey with Barry, and along with them too are a bevy of new artists that are personally picked and curated by Barry himself that will be added continually to the site. And unlike other sites that just sell art, the new Thumbtack Press will become an online art enclave that exists to create a community of like-minded art enthusiasts.

To celebrate, Barry is giving ONE lucky Pikaland reader a chance to score a framed piece of art from any artists from Thumbtack Press!

To be in the running: go to their site, find the one print you just cant live without, and post it here in our comments section. The winner will be announced here and on their Facebook page on May 3rd at 3:00 CST.

UPDATE: Congratulations to Chelsea, winner of our Pikaland Giveaway, who chose Lilly Piri’s “Matches” print! See Thumbtack Press’ Facebook Page for more info!

  4. If it’s only one, then I’d go for Silent Whistle by Ruel Pascual. I like the overall feel and composition. It’s simple yet if feels complete as a whole. Nice! When Monkeys Rule by Paul Barnes’s Monkey is just too adorable. I smiled looking at it…haha.^^

I have always LOVED Kate Pugsley’s work…the colours she used are wonderful.
My favourite piece is The Boy on the Horse. Our youngest daughter is obsessed with horses and thought she would LOVE this as a birthday gift in June.

  7. I love the illustration…..‘Sirius’ by Lilly Piri

The colours are so beautiful which is what first attracted me to Lilly’s work. I like this illustration (mentioned above) because I recently got involved with a project called ‘Colour me Totem’ run by the team inkygoodness. It has got me in the mood for more native American influenced art, which this illustration really portrays.

  8. What a wonderful art site! I’ve started a thing with my darling niece where I purchase a print for her every birthday (it will be her fourth at the end of july). I plan to give them to her on her 18th birthday if I feel she’s ready and then continue to add to her collection after that.
I found the perfect fourth year print on Thumbtack Press. The Suitcase print by Lilly Piri.

I hope to purchase that for her, or better yet I could win it since I’m making next to nothing my first year out of school…

  11. Oh how I adore Wilson Hsu’s “Nightbird”! The cool colors, the dystopian whimsy! Funny and slightly sinister at the same time—I hope I win it but even if I don’t, it will be mine!
