stephanie kubo

EEK! I love the graphic drawings of California illustrator/artist Stephanie Kubo’s series Head Dress. If I could have Stephanie draw me a ceremonial head dress it would involve a knit hat, a Kindle, a teacup WITH earl grey tea inside, headphones, a dream catcher, tarot cards, and sharpie pens. I choose not to justify my choices.

What would she draw for yours? Check out Stephanie’s amazing drawings while you consider your options.

natalie perkins

I’ve written about Aussie based illustrator/designer Natalie Perkins before and I still can’t get enough of her lettering, mad technical compositional skillz, and overall cheeky attitude. She has this talent because she practices by doodling in magazines (Frankie to be exact), and teenage angst aside, that makes me heart her even more.

The men folk will soon understand the power of the paisley, and Natalie’s gonna tell ‘em how its done right.

luke ramsey

Luke Ramsey is a Canadian artist who is one of the founding members of Islands Fold, an artists residency in Pender Island, British Columbia. According to his blog, “Luke’s work is about finding harmony in organized chaos…Somewhere between Abstract and Surrealist Drawing, Luke’s work derives from The Psychedooolia Movement ( a term coined by Marc Bell. ).”

I always find it interesting when contemporary artists classify their work because why is it important? If we don’t categorize ourselves or have the art world label us, does that mean our work doesn’t exist?

I don’t know what Psychedooolia means except that it’s fun to say and I also know I LOVE Luke’s art!
