Fenómeno, from Maria Herreros

The first reaction I had when I started browsing “Fenómeno” in the library was: “I want to tattoo again”. I identified myself immediately when I started reading it. I saw that Maria Herreros was there. She seemed cool and happy. Behind her, some guys where mounting a small exhibition with some of the drawings from the book. I bought it and I asked at the counter “do you think she will sign the books?” and the lady said “no”. So I smoked a cigarette outside, I got my crocodile and went back home.

For Maria Herreros everyone is bizarre, some people just know how to hide better. I understand that. : )

New zine from Cachete Jack!

I’m in Valencia for the month and I had the chance (big one!) to visit Cachete Jack‘s studio! They were having a big sale where you could buy all their products, meet them and eat homemade cake. Lovely!

I have to say I had to control myself to not buy everything they had and say, “its over, everyone go home! 😀 It’s all mine.” But, I managed to not be weird and behaved appropriately. I even bought some (lots of) products. One of them, my favorite, is the new zine they just released with Ultrarradio called “Todo lo que nos contaron nuestros abuelos” (“Everything our grandparents told us”), which brings amazing illustrations telling the story of the Spanish Revolution. And this is one of the pictures I did on their studio, in a very nice and bright place in the heart of the city. What a wonderful saturday I had! Thank you Nuria Bellver and Raquel Fanjul!

Painting the invisible

Ana Ventura coordinated a workshop at the Museu da Marioneta, in Portugal with a very creative, imaginative idea.
The participants had the opportunity to give life to the walls of the museum. Based on her collection “(in)visíveis” (invisibles), she proposed to everyone to look at the spots on that space and transform it into something new. Many different animals and characters are living now at the cloister of the puppets museum and became an ephemeral, beautiful and delicate exhibition. I’m so inspired by this idea that I feel like doing the same everywhere I go!




I have a friend who participated on the workshop, Andrea Ebert, and she was the one who told me about it. Obrigada Andrea! : )
