I adore Donna Wilson’s work, so I was even more thrilled to learn that Janine from Uppercase did a feature on Donna and her studio.

Here’s great advice from Donna:
I enjoy doing but making it work as a business as well. Thats important because you can design anything, draw and paint and everything, but if you can’t sell it, you not going to last very long. It’s important to get that balance right.
Emma Block has organsed an exhibition of illustration celebrating the 200 year anniversary of Grimms Fairy Tales in the gallery in Foyles Bookshop, Charring Cross Road in London, UK from the 28th of November till the 8th of December.

I’m a personal fan of the artists involved and I’m thrilled to hear that they’ll all be exhibiting in one place: Emma Block, Lesley Barnes, Natsuki Otani, Yelena Brykesnkova, Karolin Schnoor, Laura Barrett and Emmeline Pidgen; so hop on over if you’re in the area!

I found Richard Mia’s work while I was researching about editorial illustrations, and came across his simple yet striking work. Their beauty lies in the simplicity in which he delivers his message – he cuts straight to the chase in as little as possible. His work instantly brings to mind Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s quote:
Perfection is achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
Happy Monday folks!
