The Desktop Wallpaper Project

Nik Daum’s wallpaper

Brad Haubrich’s wallpaper

I personally like to change my desktop wallpaper every so often, just to mix things up a little. Enter Bobby Solomon of Kitsune Noir. He wrote to all his favourite artists and designers — many of which he has featured before — and asked them if they’d contribute a desktop wallpaper… which they happily did. This led to the Desktop Wallpaper Project where he releases one desktop wallpaper every Wednesday morning (California time) until he runs out of them. They’ll be free to download, and come in a multitude of monitor sizes, as well as iPhone and PSP versions.

Other artists who’ve also came up with wallpapers include Mike Perry, Tim Biskup, Andy Rementer and also the previously featured Jean Jullien.

Catia Chien

I am mesmerized by the work of Catia Chien, an artist based in Southern California. Her work reminds me both Tadahiro Uesugi’s beautiful atmospheres, as well as Quentin Blake’s wonderful brushstrokes. She also recently illustrated a children’s book called The Sea Serpent and Me, written by Dashka Slater.

I am loving everything in her shop too; there are limited edition art prints, lettersets, greeting cards and beautiful button packs. She’s now one of my favourite artists — just looking at her drawings is enough to make me smile.
