Dreams are the genus

I hope you had a fun Halloween weekend! For those of you who are a little disappointed that the week of monsters and ghouls are over, I have something that will make you happy – a book that celebrates all things dark!

Dreams Are The Genus is a new collaborative book project edited by alternative photographer and illustrator Tigz Rice, and features 7 dark artists and one truly terrifying writer that will make your skin crawl! The book is due to be released on the 27th of November, but you can preorder your copy right here. The artists featured in the book are: Audrey Newhouse, Matt Grundy, Peter Tinkler, Tigz Rice, Kirsty Greenwood, Natsuki Otani and Nelson Evergreen.

How’s that for prolonging the festive fun of the dark arts?

Marieke Engelke

Loving the work of Germany-based illustrator and designer Marieke Engelke. She channels Picasso in an entirely modern and fun style – and I really like that her illustrations are playful with a raw quality to them. I think they would be fantastic for editorial spreads!
