Season’s greetings!

Happy new year 2012!

Season’s greetings everyone! Over here at Pikaland HQ, we have quite a few things to be thankful for this year:

  • YOUR support for cheering Pikaland on — we’re going to be 4 years old in February!
  • The launch of Camp Pikaland – a virtual school for artists, taught by fabulous artists such as Jamie Shelman, Michelle Fifis, Kim Welling and Alexandra Hedberg! Next year will be amazing as we introduce new teachers in our line up! 🙂
  • Thank you for supporting Pikabooks as we publish artists zines and also our popular Good To Know zines that brought illustrators, artists and designers together to discuss creativity, life and business.
  • Thank you to our sponsors this year – many of you sponsored that loaf of bread I put on the table, and I thank you tremendously.
  • There are lots of amazing things coming up for 2012 and I’m excited to see where the wind will take us! To make sure you don’t miss a thing, sign up for our fun, friendly and free newsletter to be in the loop!
  • And lastly, there’s too many folks to list down here, but I’m truly indebted to the many wonderful blogs and people who featured Pikaland on their websites and publications; as well as those who left comments and lent us their quiet support – we know who you are!

Happy holidays and a big cheer for 2012 — here’s wishing you lots of joy, happiness and warmth from our family to yours.

xoxo

Illustration Friday: Sink

Illustration Friday

“Sink”, ink & digital

With 2011 coming to a close, I realized that I don’t have an illustration up on Illustration Friday for the longest time. So I decided to draw one on a whim!

I really didn’t want to be so literal with this week’s theme of “sink”, but when I think of the word, all I could think about those old barrels that were used as sinks in cartoons (or perhaps even the olden days).

Also! I’ve a new portfolio website. It’s running on Tumblr at the moment, but feel free to add me. I’m still in the process of finding my style, but I know that wielding a brush pen really brings out my mood to draw!
