What do you get when you cross lots of illustrators with one loveable creature by Maurice Sendak? A roaring collection of terrible yellow eyes of course!

The project, which ran from May 2009 to January 2010 was started by Cory Godbey. His goal was to make a collection of paintings inspired by Maurice’s famous book Where the Wild Things Are as a tribute and celebration of the book; of which he did wonderfully.

Love, love, love.

I am drawn to Anna Pernilla’s work — I love how her muted colors are just “enough”. Most importantly though, is that it brings out the strong patterns and structure that underlie her illustrations. She keeps a shop too.
