linn olofsdotter

I AM NOT WORTHY! I AM NOT WORTHY! I mean…hello. Sorry, I was down on my knees in admiration over the illustration work of Linn Olofsdotter. Linn’s work is a lot like a shepard’s pie. Every design element and illustration technique is thrown together in one pan. One would think it’s going to be too much; too many ingredients, too many flavors. Turns out it’s pretty flippin’ delicious! There is a protein, vegetables, and a carb in one form!

Although, I realize some of you might not like shepard’s pie, in which case, I hope you do not find Linn’s work to be nausea inducing. And Linn, if you should ever read this blog post, I am sorry I compared you’re brilliant style to a meat pie, I truly am not worthy!

Pugs not Drugs

Pugs not drugs

Good morning!

Ever feel that you need something to help get you through the week? Well the girls at All Mighty have this secret arsenal in their fight to set the records straight for everyone out there – pugs are in, and drugs are not. So pick up a pug (or failing that, maybe the tote will do) instead of your regular poison, and be the better for it!

I hope you love reading the artist interviews on Pikaland, because it’s going to get even better. Melanie Maddison has joined the Pikaland family as a contributor, and she’s going to be bringing you plenty of inspiring, uplifting and honest interviews with artists and illustrators that you have come to love (and discover) over here.

Melanie is a zine writer and former postgraduate Women’s Studies student from Leeds, UK. Her main zine, Colouring Outside The Lines has been going strong since 2004 where she interviews contemporary female artists. (Ed’s note: Fear not boys, you’ll be included as well over here!)

Please give a warm welcome to Melanie — her first interview is coming up in a moment, and you’ll love this: it’s Jill Bliss!
