The lovely Jenny of Be Happy Now just made these lovely little handmade books that includes 35 of her best illustrations. Each one is lovingly handmade and carries the title Flying to the Dream.

For Pikaland’s readers, she’s offering FREE SHIPPING on this book. Just mention the word PIKALAND in the comments section during your Etsy checkout! And if the thought of that alone isn’t enough, she’ll also be drawing something special on each envelope as a surprise.

The Incredible Print Show!

I’m so happy to let you all know that I’m going to be in Artstream Studios Incredible Print Show opening on 2nd May 2009! There will be 50 artists in the line-up from around the world and they’ll be printing in all forms, ranging from lithography, silkscreens, and digitial prints, to linocuts, woodcuts, letterpress and many more. The works will also be available online for purchase at the Artstream online shop from 1st May.

I have five original works at the gallery, one of which is the above. I’m so proud to be invited along with so many fabulous artists like Jaime Derringer, Lisa Soloman, Shannon Rankin , Ana Ventura, Heather Smith Jones and so many others.

Marvellous Marzipan

It’s amazing how marzipan can be put to use! These treats are special edition treats made by the Eugene and Louise Bakery — the sweetest team-up ever between three Belgian friends: Glenn D’Hondt & Sylvia Meert (aka Eugene and Louise) and Tinne Mermans.

They created this fictional bakery for an art show in Antwerp (so sorry guys, this isn’t for sale!). Their goal was to combine Eugene and Louise’s character designs and illustrations with the sweetest food on the planet: marzipan and chocolate. This resulted in a limited edition series of edible designer toys and chocolate dreams.
