I’m really enjoying the bold brush strokes of Kelly Lasserre’s work. She draws things that are deceptively simple (like that pot of basil up there) — adding a spot of personality and a dash of brazenness to it all. And those hand-lettering — carefree, loose and wild, I can almost imagine that Kelly’s brush has a life of its own!

You can find some of her work for sale over at Little Paper Planes and catch up with her on her blog.

Sponsor giveaway: Pulsatilla

Pulsatilla giveaway

Animals and nature take centerstage in Pulsatilla’s work – she’s a French artist based in Tahiti who mixes patterns and organic form to create lovely mixed media pieces that you can find in her Etsy shop.

She’s giving away a very limited edition print (only 4 available!) to ONE very lucky Pikaland reader. You just have to leave a comment below and I’ll pick out a winner after 19th October!

Pikaland welcomes sponsors, so if you’d like to spread the news about your business for the holiday season, now’s the best time to do so! You can head over here to see what sponsorship options are available!

UPDATE: Commenting has now closed, thanks so much for participating. The winner of this giveaway is Emily, as generated by random.org.

Dry or die!

Double Merrick

Don’t you just love funny towels? I’m not sure if the towel is talking about hands, or vice versa though… it can go either way!

This overly opinionated towel is made by Double Merrick and is inspired by vintage matchbook art.
