Today we have a guest blogger (yes, it’s been a busy week here on Pikaland!) who is going to report on what’s happening from New York; all with fresh eyes!
Deborah is the lady behind Tartaruga Feliz, and she’s from Brazil. She’s in New York for a few months where she’ll no doubt unearth some lovely happenings, and she’ll also cover topics that revolve around the culmination of art and technology in our guest blogger column!
Hi! I’m Deborah and while traveling the world, sometimes I get the chance to know some illustrators that really inspires me.
André da Loba gave me some tips of places to study printmaking and in the meantime invited me to visit his studio in New York. It was really cool and interesting to be immersed in someone’s work.
His studio is covered with his drawings and these characters that seem to be alive on the walls and hanging from the roof.
What I like the most about this illustrator is the simplicity and how he reminds me of Pablo Picasso’s work.
If you are in Portugal you can visit an exhibition he’s participating right now, its called DRS LOVE and it will be there until April 5th. Send me some pictures if you go!
