Illustrated calendars 2011: Part 5

I can’t believe it’s Friday already and that it’s already December — can you believe how fast time flew by? My birthday’s coming up next week (on the 8th!) and thank goodness for calendars for reminding me about it (yes, it has been that mad over here in Pikaland HQ!)

If you’ve followed my little obsession with 2011 calendars, then you’re in for another round of eye candy — without much ado, I present to you part 5 of our illustrated calendar special!

Gifted magazine

My dear friend Ez of Creature Comforts has outdone herself this year with Gifted Magazine — a holiday guide that’s jam packed full with gift ideas for the upcoming holidays, projects and freebies galore.

I’ve only gone through half of the magazine (and flipped through it all), but it’s so crazy good that I’ve bookmarked it on my browser so that I can really sit down and read it from cover to cover with a hot cup of tea. If you’re crazy busy during the holidays, then you’ll certainly appreciate how much time and effort Ez has spent into creating this beautifully useful guide that showcases the wonderful things out there — there’s something for everyone in there!

I read each and every comment here on Pikaland, and I make it a point to visit the sites of my commenters — although I may not respond directly to your comments! Eyedrool was one — he left me a comment in early September. A quick hop over to his website one day and I’m mesmerized by his line drawings. It’s amazing how he produces almost optical-illusion based drawings that seem different each time you look at them.

It says that he’s currently studying at Manchester Metropolitan University for a postgraduate degree in the field of Design & Art Direction; and that he illustrated the cover (and insides) of one Flux Magazine. Other than that though, I don’t really know much about him because he stopped posting on his blog since last year. I wish he’d continue to post because his work is too beautiful to be kept in the dark!
