Hey Kyle Coughlin! We’ll be your bartsie [art + bestie]!
Now, a question to the readers: what do you and your art friends do on the weekends? How do you keep each other motivated to create?
Oooh I love a bit of handmade typography on a Tuesday morning. Lovely!
As for the questions, on the weekends I don’t see my art friends at all….I work Saturdays in a wonderful independent craft shop, and Sundays I take my only day off: lounging around with my partner, watching movies and usually making pizza.
My art buddies and I keep each other motivated by meeting regularly as a group called Brillustrators (Bristol + Illustrators + Brilliant) – we show and tell about our latest work, set group briefs and homework and organise exhibitions and zines together. Usually if anyone needs motivation there are enough of us in a good motivated mood to help them out. It’s a great way of bouncing round ideas, and a great excuse to eat cake!
I don’t see too many of my Art friends anymore…I have one who lives 30 minutes away…one in Spain, and a few really good ones in the UK…that’s what happens when you keep moving home. BUT…I have bloggers and great sites like Pikaland to keep me inspired!
Thanks for sharing.

My friend Simone and I recently decided to start going to the local coffee shop and work on our separate projects together. She writes stories and I draw. We both try to keep each other on track. It is good motivation.
I wanted to start a little art critique group by me. I was curious to see what others are doing. I’m trying to find a balance between internet art support and human art support. Thanks for the comments everyone!

Hi there and welcome to Pikaland! This is my personal playground where I write and research about art, creativity, and the pursuit of art entrepreneurship. Enjoy!
