Julievw

Can someone tell me who is Julievw? She’s currently based in Ghent, Germany (oops, thanks Ellen!) Belgium and is the artist behind these lovely illustrations (that she just compiled into a book). I love her effective use of white space, and also the various textures that make her work look raw, and yet very put-together.

rui ribeiro

Here’s some striking work from recent British art school graduate Rui Ribeiro. I love black and white images with a specific placing of color. The combination is sophisticated, dramatic, and beautiful. These are just a little sample of his portfolio. I didn’t even post his graphic design or photography work; which is stellar if you were wondering.

You are living at a fraction of your true potential.

Lucas Sharp

Beautiful vector-based lettering style from Lucas Sharp, an art director and graphic designer who is based in New York. He’s been devoting time to studying typography at Parsons and is currently an apprentice under Joshua Darden.

This particular font is called Meditate, which was designed in 2009 and is currently being used in labels for a health food start up. There are other beautiful fonts on his website, but this one jumps out at me the most. Also, I love this quote, and thought that it would be great to end this week on a high note.

On another high note, as of 18th March, we’ve raised USD$550 from our Japan earthquake and tsunami fundraiser! It’s still going strong, and we welcome contributions from you, dear readers. Every little bit counts!

—————-

I’m winding down this week a little earlier as I’m been busy packing up orders for Mogu poster for the fundraiser. I’ll be updating my Twitter throughout the weekend on the collection total, so it would be wonderful if you can help spread the word!

Happy weekend everyone!
