Loving the fun illustrations of Denise Gallagher. Her work has a predominantly muted palette of green, browns and grey; with a lot of textures and fine line work. What I love most is her ability to express the many facets of her characters through the rendering of their facial expression — now that’s a skill I’d kill for! Also worth a read: her About page with one of the loveliest bios I’ve ever read.

See her BigCartel shop for prints you can purchase!

Martin Lacko’s sketchbooks first caught my eye but after looking a little closer, his strange creatures and dark humor has me hooked. The Slovakian illustrator’s bold lines and unapologetic strokes bring life to his characters; while his sketchbooks are a lot more detailed – I wish there were more to see!

Firefluff

This post is for my little sister who almost cried herself to death when she found out about the sweetness of My Milk Toof. Sure, I’m a little worried for her safety when she discovers the leader of adorable paintings and illustration Lisa Evans (aka Firefluff). I’m fairly certain Lisa’s site will be bookmarked immediately. My sister’s hand will soon be deformed into a claw like position from scrolling Lisa’s website over and over. Then, my sister’s eyes will just straight up burst.

Maybe I shouldn’t share Lisa’s work.

But what kind of older sister would I be if I felt that reading “death by cuteness overload” wasn’t an amusing obituary?
