Her characters are lively and fun, as are her sketches in graphite. She was the winner of the Macmillan prize for Children&#8217;s Picture Book Illustration in 2006 &#8212; not a bad feat at all for someone who used to be a zoologist! <\/p>\n<p>Looking through her beautiful website, it&#8217;s evident she has an offbeat sense of humor that I appreciate.
