I&#8217;ve been a long time fan of Kajsa&#8217;s creation, created under the label <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/syko\">Syko<\/a>. She was one of our first PikaPackage participants (see <a href=\"http:\/\/pikaland.com\/staging\/2008\/05\/05\/the-pikapackage-giveaway\">previously<\/a>) who sent in those beautiful postcards &#8212; can you believe it&#8217;s been two years since then? Kajsa&#8217;s line is growing beautifully, and although her focus is mostly on crafting, I am a big fan because she represents a modern craft movement that integrates both art and craft beautifully.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/3213.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" alt=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/3212.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" alt=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/3211.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" alt=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/3208.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" alt=\"Scandinavian Stitches\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Her book is beautifully illustrated in her whimsical style \u2013\u00a0minimalistic in nature, colorful and imperfect in a perfect way; it&#8217;s a wonderful book to collect if you&#8217;re an avid quilting fan. The appliques were created based on her own illustrations (along with her daughter&#8217;s) and are colorful, fun and so pretty! <\/p>\n<p>If you think that crafting is a boring hobby that requires you to follow exact patterns and instructions, you&#8217;ll certainly be inspired by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1607050072?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=pikaland-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=1607050072\">Kajsa&#8217;s book<\/a> \u2013\u00a0she shows how a little whimsy can be worked into that quilt, or that pillow by breaking a little of the rules.
