Starting from November 2020, I’m offering private one-hour consultations/coaching via Zoom!
What we can cover in one-hour
My goal with this consultation is akin to coaching, and I would like you to be able to see results from the work that you put in. This can be in the form of helping you achieve a particular goal, shedding insight into creative blocks, getting feedback about your work/portfolio, brainstorming ideas for your very own personal projects, as well as topics around self-promotion strategies.
I personally feel that if you have an extra set of eyes and ears, you’ll be able to move forward much faster, and more efficiently in your journey. You can also think of me as your accountability partner to finally get things in order, or even to get back on track!
If you’re looking to work with someone privately, here’s why you might want to consider working with me:
I focus on personal projects
Pikaland was essentially my very own personal project. I’ve been writing and focusing on artists with personal projects for the past 14 years on the blog; researching on how they’ve found their personal style and voice, and how they were able to go from experimenting and playing with various ideas; to finding work that bring them joy, in addition to making a difference in the world. I saw a running pattern in people who’ve created personal projects, which led me to create and refine a syllabus that’s rooted in my own experience. It’s one that I’ve since taught to hundreds of students offline and online. These students have learned how to create their very own personal project that played to their strengths, while finding various ways to express their voice.
… and painless, self promotion for shy artists
I may be a bit of an anomaly in this time and age, but I’m not active on social media. That’s because I choose not to be, only surfacing every once in awhile to say hello, mostly to let people know that I’m very much still alive (!). I enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with not being “out there”, because I find that external noise tends to drown out my own, in addition to making me unnecessarily anxious. Instead, I prefer to focus internally on what I’d like to say, and work on that instead. Self-promotion is a lot easier when you’re not preoccupied with what others are saying or doing, and are able to keep the fear of missing out (FOMO) at bay!

Frequently asked questions
There is absolutely no commitment at all! We can meet for just one session, weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly if you’d like! I’m here to support you however fits you best.
It’s totally up to you! You can try out one session to see if we fit well together, and move forward from there. I want the results of our sessions to be productive and constructive for you. And remember, I want only the best for you; and if that means I’m not it, it’s okay too!
Sure thing! Here are some things we can talk about (and others have come to me for):
– Finding and recognizing patterns in your work
– Building confidence as a self-taught artist
– Too many ideas and don’t know which ideas to focus on
– Feeling lost and don’t know where to start
– Constructive criticism about your work and projects
… and many more!
One hour session costs USD$65, and will last for 1 hour. You’ll get a follow up email with key points that we’ve discussed after, as well as a recording of our session.
You can book a session by using our booking calendar software on this page. Payments will be handled via Paypal, and no registration for a Paypal account is necessary for payment.
I’d love to find a way for us to work together, so please contact me directly via email, or by using the contact form below, and we’ll see if we can work out a time that works for both of us!
Cancellations and re-scheduling is possible, if you send in an email at least 2 hours before our meeting (the earlier, the better!)
