They were hot stuff when it first came out at the end of the 1990s. I remember sending them out when it was Christmas time and it was fun. No postage stamps! It&#8217;s so fast! It was novelty! And that was fun&#8230; for a little while. <\/p>\n<p>So when I got an email request from Michelle from <a href=\"http:\/\/patternobserver.com\">Pattern Observer<\/a> about finding new e-cards, I took it as a challenge. I haven&#8217;t really looked into the scene for years and I thought that this was going to be one tough post to do. But lo and behold &#8212; I did find a few interesting e-card dispensing websites that were more keeping with the times (and my fondness for humor and illustration!) So drumroll please:<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/3305.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"ecards\" alt=\"ecards\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A funny and pretty little e-card by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.violetadabija.com\/freeze_greetings\/ecards.php?action=detail&#38;category=Winter%20Holidays&#38;id=1258615994\">Violeta Dabija<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/3303.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"ecards\" alt=\"ecards\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Haha funny videos by <a href=\"http:\/\/jibjab.com\">JibJab<\/a> (some of these are premium, which you have to pay for)<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/3302.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"ecards\" alt=\"ecards\" \/><\/p>\n<p>E-cards that you actually put together yourself at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flashcan.com\">Flashcan<\/a>. There are a few illustrators&#8217; palette to pick from, so this could keep you entertained for a good hour while you compose your card.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/3301.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"ecards\" alt=\"ecards\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Funny, heartwarming and silly video based e-cards (and a lot of them are illustrated as well!) from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.katiescards.com\/ecard-category-christmas-7763.aspx\">Katie&#8217;s Cards<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.pikaland.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/3304.jpg\" class=\"image\" title=\"ecards\" alt=\"ecards\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, e-cards with a touch of sarcasm and dry humor that grownups would enjoy from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.someecards.com\/\">Someecards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And there you have it!
