This morning I’m mesmerized by the beautiful work of Riikka Sormunen, a 25-year old illustrator who was born in Helsinki. There’s so much raw energy in her personal work that they’re almost art in itself – definitely edgier than the commercial illustrations that she has done for various clients (including the New York Times).

I like her personal work better, even though the commercial illustrations are just as well done, the personal work seem to have more depth (in my opinion).
