Sponsor giveaway: Suzanne Urban
Posted by Amy on Tuesday January 10, 2012

Contemporary folk artist Suzanne Urban combines illustrations and paintings with witty musings to create badges, pins, prints and original paintings; all of which are available for sale in her Etsy shop. No stranger to the art world, Suzanne already has an extensive portfolio of work in newspapers, greeting card companies, corporate graphic departments and publishing empires!

To spread some joy around, Suzanne is giving away a set of three badges (one was painted with coffee!) and a 5“x7” print with added collage wording and color worth USD$35.

Just leave a comment in this post (and feel free to share a joke or two) to be in the running! We’ll pick out a random winner after the 17th of January.

Sponsor giveaway: Heartbox
Posted by Amy on Tuesday December 13, 2011

Christina Vagenius of Heart Box Studio is a self-taught artist and her work is one of the brightest and cheeriest I’ve ever come across. She uses recycled books, journals and other assorted materials to create shadowbox art and illustrations which she sells in her Etsy shop! She also recently finished a book called The Gift, a three dimensional children’s book created using vintage and discarded books and journals.

As our sponsor for the month of December, she’s giving away a USD$50 gift voucher, fully redeemable at her Etsy shop to ONE lucky Pikaland reader!

Just leave your comments in this post to be in the running and we’ll randomly pick out a winner after the 20th of December 2011!
The contest has ended and the winner has been picked by random.org – Elisa! :) Thanks everyone for joining in the contest!

Sponsor giveaway: Princeton Architectural Press
Posted by Amy on Tuesday December 6, 2011

As you all know, I’m a book-lover. I love everything about them –they’re beautiful, mysterious (I have this urge to get to the end of each book!) and most of all, that they have the ability to unlock my mind with a single flip of the page.
And that’s the reason I’m so excited about our giveaway this week – we’re going to give away not one, but TWO books this week, courtesy of Princeton Architectural Press!

Princeton Architectural Press is celebrating their 30th birthday this year and they’re one of my favorite publishers of architectural and design books, so I’m thrilled to have them on the blog today where they’re giving away one book each: Maps by Paula Scher and Typography Sketchbook by Steven Heller and Talarico Lita to two lucky winners!

Throwing your hat in the ring for the giveaway is dead simple: just comment on our post to let us know which book you’d like and why — we’ll pick out the winners after 13th December! Easy peasy!
*UPDATE: Commenting has now closed, thanks so much for participating. The winner of this giveaway is Carmen and Megan as chosen via random.org!

Sponsor giveaway: Judy Kaufmann
Posted by Amy on Tuesday November 29, 2011

Barcelona-based illustrator Judy Kaufmann is no stranger here at Pikaland. We wrote (previously) about her obsession with repeating things, and of course her subjects include animals, famous people, houses, cars, trees and well, basically everything that can be repeated – and she sells her lovely prints over in her Etsy shop.

She’s one of Pikaland’s sponsors for the month of November and I’m thrilled that she is offering a chance for our readers to win one of her big prints# – at a whopping generous size of 11.7in x 16.5in (or 297 × 420mm)!

All you need to do is leave your comment as to which print is your favorite from her collection and we’ll draw out a lucky winner after the 6th of December 2011!
