Marimekko’sย patterns never fail to make me smile โ and they do so again in their Spring 2013 collection. Lots of fun colors, abstract prints and simple shapes. When juxtaposed with each other, and with various items within their collection, it reminds me of sunny days, picnics and for some reason, a little bit of the 80’s (which might have something to do with the neon colors and my listening to more 80’s light rock these days over the radio โ don’t judge me.)

OMG! I have been a fan since forever. Would believe the dress for my wedding was a Marimekko print. It has long since been recut and bits and pieces have appreared in many projects. 1971! And I ought a piece on a visit to San Francisco that fought with me over and over. But yes, it reappears in little places too. I will check out the new prints. I am looking for something for a nephew’s wedding in June.
Oh wow Gerry! Do you have a picture of that wedding dress? It must have been amazing โย it’s so rare to see a bride’s dress that has patterns, even more so Marimekko’s! ๐
